The Sherman County Cultural Coalition would also like to announce a new fall grant season this year
· Fall season grant applications will be due on Oct 05, 2010.
Grants are available to help fund cultural projects that involve arts, heritage and humanities and for cultural enhancements of Sherman County cultural and historical sites.
Individuals and groups can apply for grant funds from the Oregon Cultural Trust and Sherman County for distribution by the Sherman County Cultural Coalition.
Possibilities might include:
- Cultural Field Trips
- Visiting Performers
- Visiting Speakers or Storytellers
- Visiting Artists or Authors
- Enhancement projects for existing cultural programs or historical sites
Past Projects funded in part by Sherman County Cultural Coalition Grants include:
- A Mosaic in Rufus
- Materials and art desks for Harvest Moon Gallery and free lessons
- A trip for Sherman County High School students to visit the Ashland Shakespeare Festival
- Mosaics and two art classes given at the high school by a visiting artist
- Several visiting author lectures
- A mural on 1st street in Moro, OR
- Kid Quest Drum Project
- Sherman County Public/School Library Jazz Group
- Ford Leadership Town Banners
- Indian Dancers at the 100 yrs Fair
- New paint inside the Wasco Railroad Depot freight area
- New signage for the Wasco Railroad Depot and City History Center
